Support & Guidance
Professional lactation specialist
Breastfeeding can feel like a brand new world to navigate — no matter if this is your first pregnancy or third — every child welcomes a new experience. For some mothers, it comes naturally, but for others, it doesn’t – and that’s perfectly okay. As professional lactation consultants, we provide breastfeeding assistance for mothers.
I am a board-certified lactation consultant. I provide a holistic approach to lactation consulting, focusing on the newborn’s instinctual habits and the mother’s natural instincts. Sometimes the traditional lactation suggestions don’t cut it for all mothers which is why we focus on the basics, way nature intended it to be. I want to preserve the mother-baby dyad.
We offer gentle, stress-free guidance for common breastfeeding issues, such as difficulties with latching, painful nursing, and low amounts of milk production. We offer the following lactation services.
Comfortable positioning suggestions
Useful tips to make breastfeeding feel easy
Helping your baby latch
Information about pumping and storing breastmilk
Assistance if your baby is falling asleep while breastfeeding or struggling to consume milk
Administer screening for lip and tongue ties. If this is present, we’ll put you in touch with a trusted pediatric dentist.
Assistance with overactive letdown
Create a feeding plan for poor weight gain
We will examine over supply, food intolerance, clogged ducts, mastitis, weaning, thrush, and helpful nutrition or herbs.
Guidance with pumping
Assistance creating a schedule to go back to work
It’s possible that the troubling postpartum feelings you’re experiencing could stem from birth trauma. We like to discuss the mother’s birth story to release any pent up emotions or let go of any trauma that’s been built. You’d be surprised how the body reacts and can affect breastfeeding or other stages in the postpartum process.
Birth trauma is a common reason for postpartum concerns, feelings, or unease which is why we strive to tend to the mother’s emotional needs. We want to discuss and uncover all of those troubling feelings and hear your story. Having a shoulder is more beneficial than you’d ever imagine. It’s healing to talk about your experience.
We will make appropriate referrals to chiropractic care or cranial sacral if this is a present issue.
Our trained consultants are available to answer any questions you may have and assist where it’s needed. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re having difficulties with breastfeeding. We want you to feel safe with us. Breastfeeding should feel empowering, comfortable, and easy. We’re here to help ensure your baby is staying healthy and you’re feeling confident breastfeeding.
Our lactation consultations can be in-person or virtual.
